| The Keys to Your Heart | You are attracted to obedience and warmth.
In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you're told that you're loved.
You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.
You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.
Your ideal relationship is comforting. You crave a relationship where you always feel warmth and love.
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.
You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.
In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted. |

| | "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," Elton John's best CD | ] | I've been thinking about it, and so many people I know are either engaged, getting married soon, just got married, are already married, have kids, are having kids, etc. And, I'm going to be 22 this year...I was talking to someone last night, who reminded me that we've known each other since Freshman year of high school...which was 7 years ago! It seems like the first "Fee Day" was just yesterday! I can't believe it, it's so weird. And then I think about my "baby sister," who is now a young woman, a Senior in high school, has a boyfriend, and is a gorgeous young lady. And then my "baby brother," a Sophomore in high school, is going on the wrestling team, working out...and they BOTH tower over my mom and I. AJ is even taller than Dad now! *Shakes head* I can't believe it. I remember the days when I was beating up kids who picked on my little brother...now he's looking out for me! Scary...
I just recently got the news that Jordan will be coming home earlier than planned! He will get to come home from September 29th through October 9th, so he will be home for both of our birthdays! (For those of you that don't know, mine is October 5th, his is October 6th.) Although we did find out some not-so-great news. He will not be able to be home for Christmas at all. There is no Chinese holiday anywhere around then, so he will be stuck in Beijing at school. His family will get to come home though, so at least I will get to see them. Although, Chinese New Year is in January, so he will (tentatively) be home from January 15th through February 15th. So it's all good in the end! Although Christmas will be sort of lonely, all by myself in this apartment...so your job, everyone, is to keep me busy, having fun, and surrounded by friends and love so that I will not think about it! :) And then I will (tentatively again) be going to visit him in May, (but NOT around the 13th, as Rachel will kill me if I'm not here for she and Randy's wedding - she made that crystal clear! :P) and I haven't decided if it will be for one week or two...I get two weeks of vacation pay from work next year, but it will not equal nearly as much as I would make if I was there, so it will probably be a one week trip. It will still be awesome either way!!! I'm so excited! I applied for my passport last week, so I am already halfway there (meaning I still have to get my Visa as soon as I get my passport back in about eight weeks).
Well, nothing exciting has personally happened to me lately, aside from the above...lots of work and cleaning and sitting at the apartment. My sister and her boyfriend come hang out every now and then. I went out with Ebony and her boyfriend, and Alisha and her husband the other night for a while, and it was fun, we danced the night away! But that's been pretty much it for the last couple of months. I wish I had more money so I could go out and be with my friends more often... Oh well. In time, in time.
I need to go grocery shopping.
And I'm hungry.
Don't get me wrong, I HAVE food, but not necessities, I ran out fixing dinner tonight. Example: butter. I need butter for veggies, potatoes, toast...it's a necessity for me! Although, I am also out of (fresh) veggies, and potatoes. But I still have bread! BLT's it is...
That's it. I'm hungry. And tired.
I will fix a snack, and go to bed. If anyone ever wants to do anything, you know how to get ahold of me somehow, either through LJ, IM, email, or phone. Use them. :P |

You're Egypt!
Curator of ancient mystical secrets, your life on the surface is fairly typical these days. Though you are in denial about more things than most people. Nevertheless, you're trying to convince people that you're safe despite your more volatile and unstable times that seem to be behind you. You like cats a whole lot. You'd probably really appreciate The Blue Pyramid. Take the Country Quiz at the Blue Pyramid
Oddly enough, that IS me. Take this quiz, it's eerily accurate. |

| | "On the Mend," by the Foo Fighters | ] | Wow. It's been a very long time since I have posted. I guess it is time for an update.
To go way back, right before Christmas, Jordan and I got an apartment and moved in together. :) We got two kitties, Ashes and Amber, and did very well. If I may say so myself, the apartment looks great, and is not lacking in anything whatsoever. Those of you who know my number (or if you do not, you can leave a comment on here with yours to get it), should stop by and see me sometime. I always welcome company!
To fast-forward a lot, at the end of June, Jordan left me for China. Not another girl, but the country. He will be living there with his parents until school starts, and then attending Tsinghua University in Beijing. We are still together, and working out an internationally-long-distance relationship. So far, among e-mail, Instant Messenger, webcam, snail mail, and phone calls, we are doing just fine - great even! :) He will be back to visit a few times, and hopefully I will get to visit him there, so this should be fine. He left the cats and apartment with me, so I still have a home (to myself), and kitties to keep me company when I am alone. Once again, give me a call - I always welcome company! (Especially now!)
School is great, I am still at ICC, due to a few semesters of doing nothing. Oops! Oh, well - I'll be done with it sooner or later. I am busting my ass now, but it will all be worth it in the end!
Work is alright. Waitressing is, well - waitressing. Very monotonous, same shit, different day. I would love to get an office job, but I really don't see that happening anytime in the near future. Noone wants a broke-ass college student.
The Neon finally took a shit. Traded it in for a whole $500.00! :) More than I expected, anyway. Had to jump it just to take it to the dealership, and leave it running the whole time! LOL. On the up side, I bought myself a nice 2004 Hyundai Tiburon. Only 13,000 miles on it, not a dent or scratch, and a 46,000 mile warranty left on it. Fire red. I rule.
The family is alright. Molly is a typical seventeen-year-old high school senior-to-be. She works at Pacific Sunwear in Northwoods, and Baskin Robbins - ALWAYS working! Good for her! AJ is about to turn sixteen, typical boy. I think he really misses me the most now that I do not live at home. He always asks to run errands with me, and hang out at the apartment. I like it, :) Makes me feel loved. :) Mom still works at CAT, Friday nights with the girls, which I now join in on. Fun times. Dad was fired from the Country Club one week after his 50th birthday in March. He is working part-time, but is a different man without all the stress! NOT the Dad I have known for 21 years. Very happy-go-lucky, joking all the time, and much more loving toward me - which could also be attributed to the whole not living at home thing too. He is going to open his own lawn chemical business, which he could do very well, and seems very happy about. I am very happy for him. :)
Well, I believe that is it! I will be updating this more often now - I promise! - for real this time. If you want to get ahold of me, call, or leave a comment! All I have got to say is - Life Is Good! :) |

| | Some music playing in the background (on South Park ) | ] | That was a great movie. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, you need to get out and see "Napoleon Dynamite." Great movie. Hilarius. "Sweet." It's one of those mindless comedies, but seriously...I have never laughed so hard, so continuously in one movie. Great flick, all should see. Well, since I haven't updated in awhile, I guess a few things need to be said. Jordan and I are back together. Finally. I realized that he is the one thing that makes me happy, and I believe we are meant to be. I want to be with him, and for anyone who has a problem with it, they can fuck off (directed towards a few certain people, they know who they are, I'm sure). He isn't going to China, either. He found out a few critical details about going, and realized that it would almost be wasting a year of his life (as far as school goes), and that he owuld much rather stay here. He has great friends here, me, and school. He still has family here, and can find a job. Things are looking up, for sure.
School has started, and I have probably the shittiest schedule EVER. Oh well, that's what I get for registering late. Although the woman in the counseling office that was assigned to be my advisor was a B-I-T-C-H. With a capital B. This woman berated me to the point of crying. Of crying! It takes a lot for a stranger to make me cry, but this woman was God awful! "Why should I even admit you into school anyway? What reason do I have to let you in? Give me one good reason that I should even let you in. At all." "Huh?" (I think I started to whimper a bit there.) "How many hours do you work a weeek?" "I dunno, 20-25 maybe?" "No. That's not going to work if you want a chance of doing well at this school. 15 tops. Actually, you need to quit your job." "Excuse me?" "Well, you live at home don't you?" "Yeah..." "Well, you don't need to work." "I have bills to pay..." "Can't your parents pay them for you? If they really wanted you to succeed at school, they would do anything to help. So why can't your parents pay your bills for the semester?" "Are you kidding?!?" (I'm laughing to myself here, thinking, "Why don't YOU call my mom and ask her if she'll pay all of my bills so I can stop working altogether, when she knows damn well I can balance school and work just fine.") "You need to meet with me every six weeks. If you don't I will let everyone in this office and the Business Administration department that you are never to be seen by anyone in this institution ever again. You will never be admitted into this school again, if you do not comply!" (At this point, I think is when I started to cry.) Now you tell me, what would you have done if this bitch said this kind of shit to you?!? I couldn't believe the audacity this bitch had! UGH. One more reason I despise ICC.
Work is getting shittier and shittier. I LOVE working there, don't get me wrong, but the groups they've had staying in the hotel lately are CHEAP. Shittiest tippers ever. Ever. You work your ass off and kiss ass only to find you got a couple of bucks (or stiffed in some cases) in the end. Shitty. And, we have too many servers, and not enough need for them, so I'm only getting an average of two days per week. Not enough! I have bills to pay (namely shitty Verizon)! I don't want to quit my job, I just need a second part-time job of some sort. I've been applying places and sending out resumes like crazy, but nothing yet. Grr. So if anyone hears of anything that's NOT waitressing or something stupid/shitty, let me know. I'd appreciate it. I'd really love some sort of secretarial/clerical/receptionist/bank teller sort of job. Even full time. That would be GREAT.
That's all for now. Take care, and don't let the bitches get you down, they'll gte themselves down soon enough. (That's the life lesson I've learned recently, it applies to many situations. Use it. It will do you good.) |
